CorePeel uses the Deka Smartxide’s fractional laser to create thousands of microscopic cores (holes) in the outer and middle layers* of the skin’s dermis. This controlled and measured injury promotes a response of collagen and elastin synthesis and the stimulation of fibroblasts in the skin, resulting in a firmer appearance, overall reduction in age and sun related pigmentation, and improved texture and radiance.

OUR PROCESS
For your comfort during treatment, you will be handed a nozzle to hold. This nozzle is attached to a therapeutical cold air machine and you will be able to direct a stream of cold air onto the treatment area/s as required during treatment. You will be free to continue cooling the treatment area/s with the cold air for a further 15 minutes after your treatment.

COREpeel
- Your skin will need to be well prepped with a tyrosinase inhibitor for a of minimum 2 weeks prior to your treatment. Tyrosinase inhibitors assist to reduce the production of pigment in the skin. Your nurse will provide product options suited to your skin.
- To assist with comfort during treatment, you may wish to take over the counter pain relief such as paracetamol 30 minutes prior to your treatment. Please do not take anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen before or after the treatment.
- If you are prone to cold sores, it is recommended to start a 3-day course of over the counter antiviral medication the day prior to your treatment.
- Do not use active skincare such as AHA’s, BHA’s, Vitamin A or Vitamin C for 3 days prior to your treatment.
- To prolong and maintain results a good candidate should be physically healthy, do not smoke, follow prescribed homecare routine and dedicate their efforts to protecting their skin from further sun damage. It is important to understand in order to maximise and prolong your results, maintenance treatments with bespoke homecare is vital.
Similarly, in clinic treatments are relatable to working out at the gym; to focus and improve on your areas of concern. The products recommended by your Nurse or Therapist are to enhance your results, support and protect your skin, just as you would with a healthy diet to compliment all the work you are putting in with your workouts at the gym. - Ensure you are able to adhere to the necessary downtime and post care instructions
REASONS WHY COREPEEL MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR YOU.
- Light triggered seizures
- Isotretinoin (Accutane, Roaccutane) in the past 3 months
- Other light sensitising medication (please disclose all prescription or alternative medicines to your Nurse)
- Pregnancy / breast feeding or actively trying to conceive
- Impaired immune system, including but not limited to auto immune disorders and / or cold or flu
- History of keloid scarring or abnormal wound healing
- History of / or prone to darkening of the skin post trauma
- Open wounds of any kind, eczema, dermatitis, active rosacea, active herpes simplex
- Bleeding disorders or regular use of blood thinning medications
- Recent surgery, scar tissue or laser resurfacing in the area to be treated within the last 3 months
- Diagnosed with cancer or receiving radiation therapy
- Sunburn or fake tan in the treatment area/s
- Used fake tan in the last 2 weeks
- Recent waxing, IPL, non-ablative laser therapy or injectable treatments within the last 2 weeks
- Fitted with a pacemaker or electronic pump
- Travel plans with high amounts of sun exposure
- Please advise your nurse if you are prone to cold sores
- Please advise your nurse if you smoke or vape
- Please arrive at the clinic 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment for the application of a topical anaesthetic cream (numbing cream).
- When it is time for your scheduled appointment, the nurse will take you through to a dedicated laser treatment room. The nurse will explain the treatment again, answer any questions that you may have, and go through the consent paperwork with you.
- Photos of the treatment area/s will be taken for your medical records.
- Before commencing treatment, the nurse will cleanse the treatment area/s and apply eye shields / goggles to cover and protect your eyes.
- For your comfort during treatment, you will be handed a nozzle to hold. This nozzle is attached to a therapeutical cold air machine and you will be able to direct a stream of cold air onto the treatment area/s as required during treatment.
- Following treatment, your nurse will explain the required aftercare and routine.
- You will be free to continue cooling the treatment area/s with the cold air for a further 15 minutes after your treatment.
It is normal to experience the following changes / side effects and expected duration to the treatment areas:
- Sunburn sensation 12 – 24 hours
- Plasma crusting 12 – 24 hours
- Heat sensitivity 1 – 5 days
- General sensitivity / discomfort 1 – 5 days
- Significant redness 1 – 5 days
- Darkening of the skin 1 – 7 days
- Natural exfoliation of the skin 1 – 7 days
- Results will continue to develop over 30 – 90 days after treatment
The potential risks and complications associated with the CorePeel treatment include, but are not limited to:
- Skin infection
- Scarring
