Following your thread lift, you may experience some swelling and bruising, which will gradually settle down. However, the more the tissue is lifted (especially in the cheeks) the more obvious the puckering may be. The skin under which the thread is passing is covered with skin coloured tape for the first week. Patients should avoid any vigorous exercise for 1 – 3 weeks after their procedure. When your heart rate increases, it pushes blood to the face, which can make any swelling much worse.
Unnecessary facial motion should be avoided for 24 hours and any facial creams and makeups should be avoided for 48 hours. Eating soft foods and drinking lots of liquid for the first few days can also make recovery a little easier.
Your pre and post-operative care is managed by our registered nurses and includes pre-operative assessment and post-operative wound management.
